Barbie and the Rockers was a doll line made in the late 1980's by Mattel to compete with Hasbro's popular Jem! doll line. They were on the market for roughly 3 years and there was a direct to video film made to go with the line titled Barbie and the Rockers: Out of this World, it was followed by a sequel called Barbie and The Sensations: Rockin' Back to Earth. Barbie and The Rockers include Barbie, Ken, Derek, Dee Dee, Diva and Dana. In the movie, they become international superstars with hits like "Best Friends" and "Do you believe in magic". The adventure starts off with Barbie wanting a concert like never before and decides to go into space and have a concert to promote world peace. The movie goes through flamboyant outfits and sing a-longs. At the end, Barbie and the Rockers perform in a space flower and everyone around the world loves them.
